Heaney s final work was a unique take on Book VI of Virgil s Aeneid, following the Troy exile and Rome founder s descent into the underworld.

Heaney s translation was acclaimed upon release for being rich with poetic colour, and was chosen as a TLS Book of the Year 2017.
