Uris, Leon: - Leon Uris (1924-2003) was an American novelist.
Having run away from home at age seventeen, a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, to join the Marine Corps, he based several of his novels on his own experiences in the marines.
His novels include Battle Cry and OHaras Choice , as well as the bestsellers Redemption , Trinity , Exodus , QB VII , and Topaz , among others.
