Because of Miguel is a story of a young Hispanic boy, Miguel, who is entering school and cant wait to learn how to read.

Once at school, Miguel, realizes that learning to read takes time and patience.

As he is learning the basics of learning to read, he notices that his Mama never reads the mail, his school notes, or his bedtime stories.

Papa seems to take care of it all.

Then all of a sudden it comes to him.

Miguel then takes it upon himself to try and teach his Mama how to read.
