She is the author of the Murdoch Mysteries series which has been adapted into a television series that airs around the world.
The series is in its fourteenth season.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Maureen was a psychotherapist.
She currently lives in Toronto with her husband - photographer Iden Ford - and their dog, Murdoch.
