This book is written for collectors of the Japanese Type 99 Arisaka Rifle.
It briefly covers the evolution of Japanese service rifles, the Japanese numbering system (needed to properly identify each model), the code of every arsenal producing rifles for the Japanese Empire, then a thorough discussion with diagrams of all the major parts of the Type 99 showing their evolutionary process from the rifles introduction in 1939 to the hastily assembled substitute rifles of 1945.
New to this edition are chapters covering the Type 99 Special Naval Rifle, Non-military Type 99s, Korean War Arisakas, the Type 30 Bayonet and an appendix which reproduces the US Governments Technical Manual for Korean War reissued Type 99s.
