Each of the 52 chapters offers a theme for reading and reflection for a weeks time.
Some are seasonal, such as the ones for New Years, Easter, Mothers and Fathers Day, and Thanksgiving.
Others contain general themes that we face on return (and on the way to return) from prison or jail to society.
I have written them for as general an audience as I could.
Though I am a Christian-and my views reflect this-like the Twelve Step movement, I have tried to keep the focus on spirituality and not religion, principles and not doctrine.
Each chapter also contains seven questions for reflection.
I invite the reader to read each chapter for seven days during the week and then answer one question for that weeks reading.
Spending time with that question, even journaling ones response, can help with the thought processes during reentry.
Additionally, the book, with its chapters and reflection questions, can be used in reentry support groups or within a family-and- friends setting in order to draw upon that pro-social support network essential to successful reentry.
